If you are looking for a fishing vacation or simply to come and relax with a book and a camera you've come to the right spot. Ellen Island staff will look after your every need. Our deluxe housekeeping packages include everything except groceries, fishing rod and camera.

From opening weekend in May to closing in September Ellen Island Camp is your ultimate Northern Ontario Getaway. No endless parade of boats and sea-doos just hundreds of miles of shoreline to discover at your own pace. Make sure you bring a camera and have it ready at all times. Wildlife is abundant, so seeing a moose, deer, black bear, bald eagle, loon, otter, beaver, duck, partridge or rabbit is quite common.

We will point you in the right direction with well marked maps of the lake to many excellent fishing spots where you will find an abundance of walleye, bass, northern pike, whitefish, and perch. There are even streams and waterfalls where you will find speckled trout and a short 25 minute portage to get some lake trout.

If a shorelunch is what you are looking for there are plenty of cookout opportunities, just bring the fry pan and some butter.

Our island is powered by our diesel generator in the evenings from 6pm-11:30pm. Then get ready for the best sleep of your life. Most of our guests don't make it past this time. With all the fresh northern air you'll fall asleep listening to the call of the loon and the lap of water on the shoreline. If you are a night owl we always have our propane lighting available.
